The Common Council and the Mayor are all public servants paid by the taxpayers. These Common Council meetings are a chance for the taxpayers to witness their local government in action and address any issues they may have. Under the past administrations anyone wishing to speak would have that opportunity to do so. Telling anyone that if they stay after the meeting and speak to the Mayor and their councilor, they will address the concerns.
The reason anyone brings an issue forward is to have an answer in a public forum and be reported in the paper for all to see.
The answer that the taxpayer receives may not be the one that they are happy with but the issue should be addressed in an open forum not in a one-on-one forum.
In past administrations feed back to any and all issues was done in an open forum.
