After a couple of years of having great success buying and selling on Poshmark, I recently quit using it altogether. I was a top seller, with over , followers. I had some amazing regular customers which is the biggest drawback to me leaving the app�I loved these folks!

But then I had a seriously bad customer service experience with Poshmark that caused me to wonder if all the time I was spending on the app was really worth it. So I took my closet and created my own online store, Shop Stylaphile.

A Posher purchased a very unique top from my closet. It was in perfect condition. She even supposedly sent them video proof of the zipper not working. I always took great care to make sure every piece I sold on Poshmark was in excellent condition. If there were any type of minor flaws in the garment, I would disclose them in my description.

I responded to Poshmark and informed them that the zipper worked just fine when it was shipped, but they sided with the buyer and returned the item to me. The first thing I did when I received the top back was check the zipper. And guess what? It worked just fine. I contacted Poshmark Support to let them know, but they never responded. So I never used Poshmark again. Lowballers are the worst. I got to the point where if someone offered me less than half the asking price, I would just block them.

But when I found myself blocking people like a dozen times a day, I just stopped accepting offers at all. Those folks got blocked too. While the majority of the people who purchased items from my closet were class-act Poshers, I did have my collective share of bad apples.

Or the folks that give you a 1-star review without absolutely any reason for the low-rating. And then there are the trolls. I found two types of trolls exist on Poshmark. These people never buy anything and it seems their sole purpose for being on Poshmark is to waste your time. Then there are the pervert trolls. Again, there should be more seller protection offered by Poshmark when it comes to trolls like this.

The parties. The sharing. The answering questions. While I did enjoy the social aspect of meeting some really great people on Poshmark, the amount of time I was spending on the app got to be ridiculous. Four times a day for the parties. Sharing first thing in the morning. Like exercising. And writing for my blog Stylaphile. And being active on other social media that helps grow my Stylaphile business, like Twitter , Facebook , Pinterest , and Instagram.

Of course, there are several sellers on Poshmark who are crushing it�knocking it out of the park. They are making a lot of money from the time they are investing. I get that. I applaud that. However, I did have the same experience related in reason 1 with a dust bag I sold. Really a Chanel dusty bag! Although the buyer had no postings or reviews, this person contacted Poshmark accusing my the item sold of fake.

Once I received notification of the accusation and reply to Poshmark through email and phone, despite my great reputation on the site, I got no response and had the item returned to me. Tell me, how can one judge a black polyester dusty bag with Chanel silk screened On it, real or fake?! I assure you that I DO NOT own any fake items, but to me is more mind boggling that some how the buyer and Poshmark were able to make this assumption in such item.

I still use the site but it did leave a bad taste in my mouth. After seeing your post I may check out some other options. Like Liked by 5 people. Thanks for your comment Patricia. The problem I have is I have not found a platform I like as much as PM, except for the time suck sharing issue.

Tradesy sets limits on offers, so you never have to worry about lowballers. Good luck with your sales! I saw your post on Posh and read your blog article. Recently I started putting more time into it and I noticed that I actually started to see more purchases! Ok, I get it. Then the other day I had a terrible experience as a buyer. I purchased a name brand handbag for a very low price. The loop that connects the crossbody strap was broken so I thought even with the repair, it was still a steal.

I asked the seller if it was authentic, she said yes. I was so excited for my first handbag of this brand! I get it in the mail and the leather feels light. The stitching is uneven and awful. The zipper pulls with the brand name felt like plastic. So I sent posh pictures of my complaints.
