It's a lovely trip out to Walter Peak and sitting out on the patio in the sun eating fantastic food was really enjoyable. The tables were spaced well apart so you didn't feel too crowded in. Amazing trip. What a great trip. Even if you are not dining at the Walter Peak Station homestead then the cruise on this beautifully restored steam ship is thoroughly worthwhile The Steamboat Queenstown New Zealand Quarter scenery is "picture postcard" perfect - regardless of winter, summer, or autumn.
The ship has good facilities, however can be a bit cramped and seating hard to get on very full days - but there is so much to see you don't mind standing!!
The crew are polite and very informative - a great asset to the company! I have done this experience a few times and each time it excels itself. The cruise on the TSS Earnslaw is stunning on its own, but to be followed by a delightful lunch just tops the experience. We had an amazing bbq lunch after a cruise on the Earnslaw and would definetly recommend it. I would arrive early for the cruise though as it is very popular.
