As neither of us were born to rich parents and had to work, it took us 5 years to get the boat in the water as just a shell without a stick, which we moved onto straight away. Fitting it out in Oyster Cove Waverton with only hand tools and whilst working, took another 4. Would I build one again? A definite no. After extending her and about 20 years of use, we sold her and bought a bigger boat in New York.
We trucked this one down to Miami, fitted her out for ocean passages, then sailed to Florida, Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Venezuela. I often look at yachts for sale, but after nearly buying a Camper Nicholson 48 twenty years ago that fortunately sank before I paid for it incorrectly moored by the vendor. Eleyna is the seller of these videos, and I would have loved such an enthusiastic crew when I was young enough to sail. I did follow one dream of becoming a racing driver, but sailing from the UK to Australia has always eluded me.

I could go into a lot of detail of what fish we caught and where but there are far to many places and lot of fish species in this world. Some highlights and things I felt worthy of pointing out:. The Med. There is no coral reefs, and we were anchored in the shallows most the time.
When we were out deep, we were sailing on a 45 degree lean going 6 knots not exactly a good time to jump overboard with your gun. Sometimes grouper. But they were fast. We did however continuously catch many large tuna trawling with our lucky lure. We now know how to make a thousand different dishes with tuna as we began to get a little sick of it after a while.
There was a lot of tuna in the Med. The Cape Verdian islands off Africa� fish. The locals swim off the beach with huge nets and use a boat to drag them back on the beach.
