It was a great way to get around and you can hop on and off as you wish, a commentary is given through free headphones that you are given by the driver on getting on the bus. Additionally entrance to many museums is included in the price. To make best value of the bus I would suggest that you get a copy of the map the day before you travel and you plan where you will be getting on and off the bus.
